How to Care for Your Ninja Hands
Hello! My name is Marie Young and I’ve been training for American Ninja Warrior for 2 years. I currently train at Obstacle Ninja Academy with RJ Roman in Orlando Florida. There I train 3-4 times a week and my hands get ripped up and very hard. When I started as a rock climber I knew I needed to treat my hands to be able to train to my best ability. Below I’m going to share how to care for your ninja hands so you can train harder and harder!
StrongerPlay Ninja Care Healing Cream Available Now!
Tip 1: Use StrongerPlay’s Healing Cream for Daily Healing
When your calluses are hard they're more likely to rip when training. There are several ways to soften your hands without losing them. One of these ways is to keep them hydrated, soft, and healing. StrongerPlay Hand Cream is a great blend of simple ingredients and essential oils to reduce finger tension. This product is a lotion I make in my house with and I’m excited to share it with the ninja community! You can get this product on our Facebook Page
Tip 2: Don’t let Your Calluses Become to Thick
My favorite product to use is a Pumice stone! When you feel like you’re about to rip and want to prevent it then try filing them down. When they are filed down you can put some of Stronger Play’s Hand Cream to help heal your hands. This is a good way to help your hands after a lot of cliffhanger training. The next tip will be what you do after you file down.
Tip 3: Ice, Ice, and More Ice!
As much as I hate the cold this is an important step to healing your hands! Overuse can make the tendons in our fingers strained and painful. Ice is a great recovery tool that helps reduce swelling and heals your calluses faster. The best way to do this is to fill your sink with cold water and some ice. You can always include some essential oils or epsom salt especially if you feel tight or any swelling in your hands.
Tip 4: Tape, Bandades, and Antibiotic Cream
When you do rip there a couple of ways to heal them. When you rip while training the best way for a quick fix is to put some antibiotic cream to relieve pain and then put some of StrongerPlay’s Healing Cream to help the rip heal faster. If you want to continue training, make sure to put a gauze pad on the rip and then tape it around your hand so it can continue healing and it doesn’t get dirty. When at home make sure to let your hand air out and don’t tape your hand unless it’s really bothering you.
I hope these tips help you achieve your ninja goals and to have successful ninja hands!
